Services Preventative Health Care We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include a: comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm preventative, flea and tick control, vaccination program, spay and neuter procedures, urinalysis, and specialized blood tests for all life stages. Vaccinations We tailor a vaccine program for each individual pet based on his/her exposure and needs. And since less is more, most of our vaccines are given every three years as recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association. On-Site Laboratory In our on-site laboratory we have the capability to perform many tests to get a diagnosis in minutes. These tests include heartworm tests, fecal analysis, cytologies, complete blood counts, chemical profiles (testing liver and kidney functions), thyroid tests, and urinalysis. We also have a variety of outside laboratories to aid in advanced diagnostics. General Surgery Our veterinarians can capably perform all routine surgeries and several more complicated soft tissue procedures. Anesthetic risk is assessed in all patients with a full physical exam and preoperative blood work prior to surgery. A registered veterinary technician with the use of anesthetic monitoring devices closely monitors your pet throughout their procedure. We believe that pain control is an essential part of healing and therefore medicate all pets to alleviate discomfort. Orthopedic Surgery Dr. John Perkins, our local traveling surgeon, along with our competent staff performs orthopedic surgeries on-site. Dr. Perkins has been working with us since 2003 and is available for consultations as well as follow up care post operatively. Dentistry Our dental care and ultrasonic cleaning, polishing and fluoride application keep your pet's teeth and gums looking great and help prevent serious illnesses like kidney and heart disease. Ask about Oravet Gel, a dental tarter preventative that can be applied after the dental cleaning and also by you at home. Radiographs Radiographs or x-rays help evaluate skeletal, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. Our on-site x-ray machine develops pictures in minutes. We can get an immediate diagnosis and enabling us to start treatment quickly. Pharmacy For your convenience we provide an on-site fully stocked pharmacy containing a wide range of veterinary drugs. Therefore we treat every surgical patient with pain medication before and after surgery. We also have many medications available to alleviate your pets' chronic pain. We are here to help you in this difficult time of choices and loss and to ensure your pet's comfort and dignity.
